An exciting position for a Beat Gamekeeper has become available on Islay Estates. This role would be ideally suited to a young, motivated individual with a passion for wild game management.
Seasonal stalker also considered to help with the busy upcoming season- immediate start required.
Duties will include guiding guests deer stalking, organising wild shoot days (currently driven and walked up woodcock and snipe), goose/duck flighting and guiding guests fishing for salmon, and sea/brown trout.
A key element of the role will be establishing a rich, biodiverse habitats across the Estate alongside regular predator control, both of which will be instrumental in achieving a sustainable wild pheasant population and increase in red grouse numbers. Working alongside the farm department, utilising livestock, will be essential for successful habitat creation and management.
The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute and work with other departments in maintaining woodland, managing riverbanks and general Estate maintenance.
A positive attitude and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team is essential.
Experience with ATV’s is advantageous but full training will be given.
Driving licence and shotgun/firearms certificates essential.
